MONSOON ELECTIVES
Our body behaves differently according to the different places and our interactions with different people. We began by doing some warm ups which helped us relax our body and calm our mind. Body movements are the change in the position of z a body part with respect to the whole body. Body language is the communication in which physical actions are used to convey a message that includes hand movements, facial expressions, etc.
Next we were told to specifically look at any one particular gesture by someone and also have the consideration of the site where the event occurs.
I took the gesture of vendors selling vegetables and how they communicate with other vendors, entertain their customers, arrange vegetables and etc.
The vegetable holds a main place in the market with all the conversations happening around it. The sounds these vendors create to attract the crowd- "20 ka pav kilo tamatar lelo", "1/2 kg matar lelo", "10 ka dhaniya, 10 ka dhaniya", "jaldi do bhaiya late ho rha hai","kitna mehenge de rahe ho, thoda kam karke do na".
Loaded with the produce of the vegetables, the market always has a commotion of people with all the sounds of the vendors blabbering out their rates drawing out the attention of an individual. Well established business of these vendors help them serve more customers and the peak morning hours and the evenings are the saturation times.
The main gestures observed of these vendors were:
Vendors spraying water on the vegetables, their talks, movement, communication with the buyers.
